How can access codes be added to the Schlage Connect if using a Ring hub?

Resolution:

Shared Users and Guest Users are invited to the Alarm system on behalf of the Owner. In order to add a Shared User do the following: 

1. In the Ring app, open the menu.
2. Make sure you’re on the right Location setting, and select Shared Access.
3. Tap the Add User.
4. Select the type of user you'd like to add. 

If adding a Shared User, enter the email address of the person you wish to extend an invitation to (each User must have a separate email address.)

1. Select Alarm Base Station.
2. Enter a unique four-digit access code.
   • Note that you will need to enter your new access code twice before saving.
3. Tap Done.
4. Tap Send Invite.

Note: If a User already has a Ring account, they will automatically show up as a Shared User.

Note: If the potential Shared User does not have a Ring account, they will receive an invitation to create an account.

If adding a Guest User, enter their name.

1. Tap Create Access Code.
2. Enter a unique four-digit access code. Note that you will need to enter your new access code twice before saving.
3. Tap Done.
4. Confirm Security System is selected by default.
5. Tap Add Guest User.

Note: Once the Shared User or Guest User has been added, the code must be shared with the new user verbally. 

Although all Users can have access codes, an Owner is the only user who can edit or change an access code. To change or Reset an access code:

1. In the Ring App, open the menu.
2. Make sure you’re on the right Location, then tap Settings.
3. Tap Shared Access.
4. Tap the User that you would like to change.
5. Tap Reset Access Code.
6. Enter a four-digit code, then re-enter the code.
7. Tap Done.
8. Tap Save.

 

You cannot program codes into the keypad manually after the lock is paired to Ring.  The codes must be added into the lock using the Ring app.  The lock will accept the manual programming code and will act as though it is saving the code, but will show a red x after entering the new code a second time.
