- locate the reader you will be using to enroll the new user
- make sure that the circle / dot to the left of the network name of your reader, is green (indicating that the reader is connected to Handnet Lite)
Click on the 'Users' tab
Click on the 'create new user' button:
- fill in the following fields (required): Unique Identifier, First Name, Last Name
- set the Authority level
- set the access profile (if you leave it at 'never', the user will not be able to verify at the reader)
Click on 'accept settings'
Click on the 'Users' tab
Find the user ID you've just entered; look at the columns to the right of the Unique ID and verify that the user information is correct; the last column is labeled "E" - this should have a '0' (zero) to indicate that the user has not enrolled with their hand or finger yet.
Right-click on the newly enrolled user ID;
on the pop-up menu, click on 'enroll' and select / highlight the reader that the user will verify at
( this reader should display "place hand" or "place finger" )
have the user place their hand or finger
When they are done, the "E" column in the 'Users' tab should change to '1', indicating that Handnet Lite now has their biometric information.
Click on the 'Status' tab
Next to the reader name, locate the yellow circle; this should change to green when Handnet Lite is finished processing the new user enrollment.
Right-click on the green dot -> click on 'download users into this reader' and wait until you see 'Freeing user databanks (Completed)'
At the reader, have the new user enter their ID number; the reader should display either "place hand" or "place finger"
