Does the ND81 require timing?

To time the ND81:

  • Install lock except outside lever.
  • From outside, rotate key cam counter clockwise until it stops.
  • Now rotate key cam vertically (12:00 and 6:00 position) for Conventional cylinders or rotate the key cam horizontally (9:00 and 3:00 position) for IC cores.
  • Install cylinder and lever.
    • For conventional cylinder, rotate key 90° while installing lever and cylinder.
    • For IC core, install the lever, then using a control key, install the core and tailpiece
  • Check operation
    • key outside should rotate 90° counter clockwise to retract latch
    • key outside should rotate 180° clockwise to allow lever rotation to retract the latch
