Do Von Duprin Exit devices meet the 5 pound force requirement for opening an ADA handicapped door opening?

The 5 pound force requirement is in reference to the maximum force to swing the door, not the maximum force allowed to unlatch the exit device.  Maximum allowed force to retract the Von Duprin exit devices is 15 pounds per ANSI.156.3.

Except in California as of 1/1/2014,
With California Builders Code changes effective 1/1/2014, CBC (2013) 11B-309.4 Accessibility to Public Buildings, the five pound maximum "in California" now includes unlatch force for panic exit and fire exit devices.
In May 2014 Von Duprin introduced the AX series EXIT device. The AX has five pounds or less touch bar activation force and is UL Certified to be CBC (2013) 11B-309 compliant.
