Please specify HH prefix whenever impact-rated hurricane product is required. The factory will then provide the required components which differ from standard device components.
The impact rated HH33/3547A and HH98/9947 will be furnished with sex bolts, 304L strike, and each latch will have two latch mounting brackets. (Standard panic devices use 385A strike and only have one latch mounting bracket.) Template #10319 is required for these devices since the use of two latch mounting brackets necessitates a greater backset than normal concealed rod panic devices. These devices are used with Steelcraft Hurricane rated doors.
Note there is also a unique Von Duprin hurricane device that Kawneer has tested with its doors. This device is ordered from the Von Duprin factory as HH-KAW 98/9947. It has a U-shaped top latch and a bottom hex bolt. The kit number to convert a standard 98/9947 to a HH-KAW 98/9947 is 24211286-32. This kit contains the top latch and strike and the bottom bolt assembly for this specific HH-KAW application.
