Cross bore, Edge bore and Backset

Cross Bore - is the large hole drilled in a door through which the main assembly of a lock or deadbolt is installed. Standard door prep is 2 1/8". If the bore hole is too small, please visit here

Edge Bore - is the hole for the latch/backset. Standard is 1". 

Backset - The measurement from the center of bore hole to the edge of the door. Some door hardware comes with an adjustable backset, some you have to specify what you need
