Codes are not Accepted by Keypad (blinks Red)

Issue:  The User Codes will not unlock the keypad lock.  The Schlage Light blinks Red after a code is entered.

Environment:

  • BE365 Keypad Deadbolt
  • FE575 Auto Lock Keypad
  • FE595 Flex Lock Keypad
  • New Installation or Existing Installation
Cause:  The lock does not recognize that User Code.

Resolution:
  1. Verify that the code you are using is a valid code.  You can do this by checking the label on the lock (opens in a new window) or the label on the User Guide for the default User Codes and Programming Codes. If The codes are different then use the programming sticker from inside your lock. Take a photo of the programming sticker from the lock. Do not remove the programming sticker.
  2. If the lock is still not unlocking even though a valid code is being used, Perform a Factory Default Reset (opens in a new window).
Follow this video (opens in a new window) to add additional User Codes or change the Programming Code.
