Can you use a Senior Swing with a Glynn Johnson overhead stop?

It is not a recommended combination.  See below for explanation.

The Senior Swing is not set up like any other closer/operator as it truly has an internal dead stop.   If the Senior Swing is installed correctly when the door reaches its full open position (normally 90°) the unit is at its internal dead stop and to physically swing the door past this internal dead stop there would definitely be abuse or excessive external factors involved which even an overhead stop would more than likely not be able to handle.

The main reason there is a possible conflict with this combination is that if the Stop is not positioned at the exact opening degree that the door swings open too you will either cause the operator never to function properly or the stop will not serve its function as the wind or abuse would more than likely damage the Senior Swing unit before ever hitting the overhead stop.

Our recommendation would be a floor or wall stop in abusive areas as they can be positioned at the exact point where the operator will open the door.
