You can’t ping the gateway but can verify that it is connected and communicating.
Once you have commissioned the Gateway using the Engage software and set the network info, you can test communications via the following method.
The GWEs were designed to not allow a typical PING command/response as with most IP connected devices. To confirm the GWE is online, use the browser on a PC or laptop, that is on the SAME network as the GWE and type in: https://192.168.1.110 (example)
If successful, the browser will show the Engage GWE splash screen with Engage background.
If needed, there are other 3rd party app’s available to ‘find’ the GWE. Zenmap is one that is suggested by Engage developers.
