Excerpt from memo:
With the new 180 degree indicator, recognizing the diversity of application where having the indicator unlock the door would be an issue, the problem was solved. The indicator slide has a patented design that allows the rotational motion of the turn hub to ONLY be translated into a linear motion to drive the slide – you cannot apply a linear force to the slide (via a finger or pencil eraser) and have that translated into a rotational motion. This addresses the customer’s need.
We do not advertise this feature because this is an issue with some of our other locks (as well as the competition), and we don’t want to draw attention to it. Again, it isn’t an issue with those other indicator products because we include an override on the same side of the door, but nonetheless it would likely make people uncomfortable.
