Can the CT5000 be powered by AA alkaline batteries?

The CT5000 cannot be powered by batteries. The DC current requirements of the CT5000 are too high (500 milliamps) for battery power to be practical.

A UL294 rated DC power supply must be used. Power supply output must be between 12 volts and 24 volts DC.

The power supply must be able to source enough current for the CT5000 (500 milliamps) plus any additional devices (electric strike, mag lock, etc.) connected to the CT5000.
