The 230L used with the 22 Series Exit Devices can not be setup for a NightLatch (L-NL) or Key Capture (L-KC).function where the key can only be removed when the lever is locked.
The key can be removed while the 230L lever trim is in the locked or the unlocked state.
If a Nightlatch function is desired with a 22 Series Exit Device, consider either the 210NL or 230NL (vertical pull handle) trim options.
The 252L trim is designed for use with the 98/9952 Pool Gate Device in areas where a local code requires that a trim that does not automatically lock itself must be mounted at 54" to minimize the chances that a small child could enter the pool area alone.
If a Nightlatch function is desired, then the 98/9952 device should be ordered Exit Only (98/9952EO) and a standard 98/99 Trim for Rim/Vertical devices should be ordered separatly (example 990NL-R/V or 996L-NL-R/V)
The 996L-KC would not be appropriate for areas which this code applies to since the lever could be left in the unlocked position with they key stil in the trim, thus it would not be automatically locked.
