Can I use a Glynn Johnson 100 with a 4030 pull side mount?

For customers insistent on using this hardware combination, we created ST-3598, a special drop plate (std 4030-18 plate with two additional holes) so the field installer could mount the plate without going into the GJ 100 track that is mortised in top of the door. We do not provide the mounting details as this is NOT A RECOMMENDED installation as the cover and the plate do not match up so the aesthetics are bad. Customer is on their own with installing and accepts the aesthetics look of the application.

The proper solution since it is probably an abusive situation (having to use an auxiliary stop) would be to go to a heavier duty closer such as the 1461, 4011, or 4040XP.
