Can a 1790 replace a 1690?

Resolution: This is possible but the 1790 may not go back into the same location on the door as the 1690 device due to the difference in device backsets. The 1790 must maintain the 3/4" backset from the face of the stop on the frame due to the 1790 strike location where as the 1690 backset could vary since it latches at the top & bottom of the door.
