To identify if the cam is in the incorrect position, extend the latch with the door open. Press the Schlage button. If it flashes green and you are able to unlock the door, the cam is in the incorrect position and needs to be corrected. Follow the instructions below:
Put the door in the locked state.
Remove the 2 screws that are holding the back trim to the lock.
Remove the back trim that covers the battery.
Remove the 2 screws that are holding the metal plate that houses the battery.
Slide the metal plate off of the driver bar (looks like a metal popsicle stick)
Use the driver bar to retract the latch to the unlocked state.
Replace metal plate onto the lock and secure with screws.
At this point I would test the lock to make sure that it is working properly. If it is, install back trim.
