The strength of your Wi-Fi signal, as measured by the lock, can affect the battery life of your Schlage Encode lock. To see the strength of the signal reaching your deadbolt, view your Wi-Fi Settings in the Schlage Home app.
Because of its built-in Wi-Fi, the Schlage Encode lock will work to remain connected to your network at all times. A Wi-Fi signal that is weak or obstructed may cause the lock to frequently search and reconnect with your network, putting a strain on the battery and reducing its life. Battery performance may also be reduced if you turn off your home Wi-Fi and do not disconnect your lock from your network, causing it to continue to search for a signal.
