The Schlage Encode series locks: (BE489, BE499, and FE789) are not Z-Wave compatible. The Encode (BE489) and Encode Lever (BE789) are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi locks; both of these models will pair to the Schlage Home app. The Encode Plus is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compactable and is Homekit enabled. All three locks can also pair to compatible “Works With” devices. Please click here for more “Works With” information.
Schlage does offer a Z-Wave compatible lock; Model BE469ZP (Schlage Connect).
