Are the deadbolts for the B500 and B600 deadlocks interchangeable?

The screw holes and the tailpiece features are identical in the B500 and B600 deadbolts.  Mechanically speaking, these deadbolts could be used interchangeably.  

Key points:

  • B500 deadbolts can be installed into a B600
  • B500 deadbolts have not been tested in the B600  
  • UL requires a lock be shipped complete from the manufacturer so UL listing is voided
  • No warranty if a B500 deadbolt is used with a B600
