Are the 4011 and 4021 closers the same?

The 4011 and 4021 use the same closer body but other components are different.

  • The 4011 mounts "pull" side.
    • When ordered as a 4011, it comes with a 6-3/8" rod and shoe, pull side instructions, and an open plastic cover.
  • The 4021 mounts "push" side. 
    • When ordered as a 4021, it comes with a 8-3/8" rod and shoe, top jamb push side instructions, and an enclosed plastic cover.

To convert:

  • 4011 to a 4021, you will need to purchase the 4020-79 rod and shoe, and the 4020-72 cover.
  • 4021 to a 4011, you will need to purchase the 4010-79 rod and shoe, and the 4010-72 cover.
