Are the 2 foot 98/99 Series Vertical Rod/Cable devices available less dogging?

The Von Duprin 98/99 and 33A/35A Vertical Rod/Cable Devices ordered in the 2' size are automatically Less Dogging.
 


APPLICATION NOTE FOR 2' DEVICE

 Available on Surface and Concealed Vertical (panic and fire).

 When vertical rod/cable devices are used on both doors of a pair, operation of the inactive door (smaller door) will not disengage the active door, creating a potential safety issue for those using the inactive door during an emergency.

Standard hex or cylinder dogging ( (HD, CD, HDI, CDI, HDSI, CDSI)) is not available.
If dogging is required, special center case dogging is available for 98/9927/47/49/50WDC devices. Prefix device with “SD” prefix.

The 2' door width is not available with QEL, ALK, SS, Chexit, hurricane or windstorm options.
The 2 ' door width can have RX or LX switches.

For pairs of doors using one 2' door Von Duprin recommends the following hardware combinations listed below for optimum safety in an emergency.

  • Surface or Concealed Vertical device on the 2' door (inactive) and a mortise device on the larger door (active). This combination is used primarily on Hollow Metal door applications only.
  • Automatic Flush Bolt on the 2' door (inactive) and a Surface or Concealed Vertical device on the larger door (active).
