Are glass lights available in the H-Series door?

Steelcraft offers all the standard lights as well as special size glass lights in the H-series door. Effective April 1, 2012, (Bulletin # B-100.12) the default for Dezigner Trim in H-Series Doors is ½" glass thickness. 

1. Only the glass light configurations that are shown on the appropriate FBC/NOA are approved for the hurricane door.
2. Other than the FG2 & FG3 configurations multiple glass lights are not available.
3. Only approved impact glasses can be used, Lexan or SentryGlas Plus.
4. Standard size glass lights available are:

•  
  • H-Series:
    • N, G, V, N3, N4, N5 & LNL
    • FG, FG2 & FG3
  • HE-Series:
    • E4TL 

Other glass light and louver guidelines are as follows:

1. High Security Vision lights:
   • Cutout only for glass lights can also be provided when using the high security vision frames SG-10 by Anemostat or VLF-S10 by Air Louvers.
   • The high security vision frames are only used when glass is 1 13/16" thick. 
2. Louvers are approved for use in the H-series door. For a list of the louver manufacturers and models available refer to the appropriate  FBC/NOA.

The glass approved for use in hurricane rated doors is the glass which was tested and is listed in the product approved in FBC Listings or in Miami Dade NOA. Refer to the Notes section below for a link to FBC and Miami Dade websites.
