Activesync HHD and iPaq conflict

A possible issue has been discovered when using an HHD with Activesync when a previous partnership with another HP IPAQ PDA already exists.

In our department, we currently have an HP IPAQ PDA connected to our PC via Activesync and to connect the HHD for testing we must remove the HP IPAQ PDA from its cradle to allow the HHD to be seen by Activesync. This so far has not caused an issue having a partnership with the HP IPAQ PDA and then creating a new partnership with the HHD device.

Problem:
We had a customer issue come up where they are using an existing HP IPAQ PDA to program existing CM locks. The customer has purchased an HHD to now program their CM locks since the HP IPAQ PDA is no longer available. The customer has created a partnership with the HHD Device but still has an existing partnership with the HP IPAQ PDA. When the customer generated the program files from SMS Express, they were able to see all programming files and the Cap Index file in the shared files folder on the PC. Also if the customer used the explore tab in Activesync, they could see the files all listed in the MY Documents folder of the HHD Device. When the customer opens the SUS, there are no door files displayed and when the customer looks at the My Documents folder on the HHD, there is one programming file missing and the Cap Index file is missing.

Solution:
It seems that the Activesync program somehow exported the one program file and missing Cap Index file to the other partnership folder of the HP IPAQ PDA. If the customer is now using only the HHD to manage the programming of their doors, it is recommended to delete all previous partnerships in Activesync and create a brand new partnership with the HHD Device.
