What would cause the Von Duprin Chexit device to have one red flash when armed then nothing?

Most common issue listed below:

Chexit devices shipped after 8-24-2015 with motor driven.

  • The Green wire is not shoeted to the Red wire if no Access Control system is used.
  • If Access Control is used, then you must use NC dry contact between RED and GREEN wires.
  • If Access control contact going to Chexit device stays open, this will cause the Chexit device to flash once upon arming. 
    • Make sure normally closed contacts from access control system connected to the GRREN and RED wires of the Chexit device.




 Chexit devices shipped prior to 8-24-2015 with solenoid driven. 

  • The GREEN wire is not shorted to the WHITE if no Access Control system is used.
  • If Access Control system is used, then you must use NC Dry contact between WHITE (or RED) and GREEN  wires.
  • The WHITE wire is not providing 24VDC voltage when CX device is armed which means the CX module is bad.
  • If Access control contact going to the Chexit device stays open, it will causes the Chexit device to flash once upon arming. Make sure normally closed contacts from access control system connected to the GREEN and WHITE or GREEN and RED wires of the Chexit device.
