What is a Hospital Stop?

Hospital Stops are located at the bottom of the frame jambs and/or mullions. The integral door stops are terminates above floor line and is closed with a 45° or 90° angle to facilitate cleaning at the floor line. Frames with Hospital stops are used in Health Care facilities.

Also referred to as:

  1. Terminated Stops
  2. Sanitary Stops
  3. Cutoff Stops

Hospital Stops are available on the following frame material for both labeled and non-labeled applications:

  1. F-Series (F16, F14, FN16, FN14)
  2. MU-Series (MU16 and MU14)
  3. DW & K-Series (DW16, DW14, K16, K14)
    • Note: Drywall Slip-on frames are not recommended for use in high traffic areas like health care facilities.
  4. Mullions - Double Rabbet only (F16 & F14-Series)

Double Egress frames:

  1. FE-Series - Hospital Stops are not available.
  2. DE-Series - Hospital Stops are available.
