Alk not power up - using 9V battery

There are three main failures with an ALK.  Problems are usually caused by a bad power source(battery), bad RX/LX Switch or a bad circuit board.

Try installing a new battery and wait to see if the light on the ALK blinks and sounds the horn.  This signals that the ALK is armed.   Then place a short across the wires from the RX/LX switch to the board to see if it will go into alarm.  If this does not resolve the issue, the board will need to be replaced.
