Yes, press the * (asterisk) key 10 times on the reader. The serial number will be displayed. A second way of locating the serial number on the reader is to visually check the label on the unit's backplate. On the label, you will see a bar code, directly below the bar code will be the serial number. A F-Series serial number usually starts with a 1.
