How to tell the difference between the older solenoid driven Chexit device and the newer motor driven Chexit device?

Externally;

The older solenoid driven Chexit device key cylinder for arming and disarming the Chexit feature is mounted through a red, rectangular windo so that the white Status light shines through it to appear red.
The newer motor driven Chexit device (made since late August, 2015) has a clear lens to the side of the key cylinder so that the red Status LED shines through it.

Internally;

The older solenoid driven Chexit device circuit board is attached to the cover plate with a 10 wire cable with a yellow plug on the end.
The newer motor driven Chexit device circuit board is mounted to the end of the baseplate behind the motor with a 12 wire cable (only 10 are used) with a black plug on the end.

Functionally;

The two versions should be able to function essentially the same from an end user perspective other than a few additional options and a quieter arming mechanism on the newer Chexit device.
