Does the PWM have a LED on it? WHY? What does it do?

The new potted module (PWM) has a built in LED that will show through the translucent protective encapsulation.  The old potted module (PWM) is black in color (non translucent) and does not have a status LED.

Orange LED flashes briefly upon applying power to the EL device but does not stay on while power is applied.
Orange LED is on continuously when an over voltage of 30 VDC occurs to EL input. The power to the solenoid is cut when this overvoltage occurs.
