Can I use an indicator on a mortise holdback function?

You can not use an indicator on a mortise holdback function.

Indicators change state based on the position of the thumb turn hub in the lockcase. The thumbturn hub will be in one of two different positions depending if the lockcase is in a locked or unlocked state. However with the holdback function, this locks the latch in a retracted position. The thumb turn hub will be in the locked position but the door will be wide open. This causes the indicator to give a false indication (shows locked when the latch is actually retracted).
