A standard exit device can't be modified to a fire rated exit device.  A new device must be purchased.
There is not a fire rated version of the Von Duprin 33A/35A rim device.  Only the vertical rod devices (33/3527A-F, 33/3547A-F, 33/3548A-F) can be fire rated.

The Von Duprin Guard-X exit device is not fire rated because the deadbolt is not spring loaded. Therefore, there would be no positive latching as required on a fire rated opening.
