Why is the ND lever hard to push on?

ND locks shipping on or after January 30, 2017 no longer require the use of the soft durometer spacer. Lever installation on the redesigned ND locks should not be difficult.

For ND locks shipping prior to January 30, 2017, the addition of the soft durometer spacer (SDS) on August 15, 2012 did affect the installation of the lever.  Ultimately, removing the amount of wobble is a more aesthetic and user friendly feature, but will require a bit more attention when the lock is installed.  The best way to ensure that the lever is fully attached, is to listen for the "click" of the lever catch when it's installed.  A helpful tip would be to push the lever on firmly at the spindle, and push the furthest point of the lever towards the door, ensuring a "click".
