What should I do when my F-Series HandPunch is indicating "Memory Full"?

The F-Series HandPunch will display "Memory Full" when the number of transactions being stored on the hand reader exceed its memory capacity. When the memory capacity is exceeded, the hand reader will not accept additional punches and it will appear to not be working.

To get the reader working again, the punch transactions that are currently on the hand reader need to be downloaded to a PC/host with Time and Attendance software. Here are the steps to follow:

The preferred way to download punch transactions is to connect the HandPunch to use the punch download feature in the Time & Attendance software (which is supplier by a third-party dealer) This action will empty the HandPunch transaction memory but save the user IDs and templates on the reader. If you need help with the Time & Attendance software, contact the dealer who supplied the software. If the dealer who supplied the software is not known, contact the Schlage biometric regional sales representative.

Alternatively, the HandPunch can be reset/cold booted.  Caution: resetting/cold booting a biometric HandPunch resets the hand reader to factory default settings and erases the all user IDs, hand templates and transactions.
