What is a drywall slip-on frame?

Drywall Slip-on Frame is an industry term describing a 3 sided frame designed to be installed on a wall composed of steel or wood studs with gypsum board or other facing material and is installed after the wall is erected and finished (painted, wall papered, etc....)

  1. Always installed on interior walls - never recommended for exterior applications
  2. Always supplied KD (Knock Down) - not recommended to be welded (SUA) construction
  3. Available with optional fire labels

Steelcraft's DW-Series and K-Series are Drywall Slip-on frames and when specified can carry a UL, ITS/WHI (Warnock Hersey) or FM fire label.
