What does the cylinder suffix BDC mean?

A lock specified by a cylinder suffix BDC will be supplied with a disposable small format construction core, see Figure 1 below.  There is no metal key but instead the BDC cylinder has a plastic turn piece for operation.

To order the BDC separately:
  • Schlage part # is M204-152
  • Falcon part # is 1408
To remove the core see instructions.

A small format disposable core is used as a SFIC construction core that is for low security applications and can be thrown in the waste bin after use.
