How to adjust First, Delay, and Retry in a PIM400 & AD400?

With the SUS connected to the AD400, in the EDIT tab there are radio communication settings "FIRST/DELAY/RETRY."

FIRST - Is the first delay after the initial transmission of credential data, before the AD400 attempts a second transmission. This delay expects the Access Control Panel to respond quickly via the PIM400. The first delay should include a lag by the Access Control Panel to respond.

DELAY - Is the time between each retry by the AD400, after the second attempt, to communication with the PIM400 and the Access Control Panel.

RETRY - Is the total number of communication attempts an AD400 will make to communicate the credential data to the PIM400 and Access Panel using the delay settings defined above.

AD400 factory default settings when shipped are FIRST = 300 (m sec), DELAY = 200 (m sec) and RETRY = 5

To change FIRST/DELAY/RETRY connect and couple the SUS/HHD to the AD400 and find under the EDIT tab the FIRST/DELAY/RETRY settings. See notes

Or connect the SUS/HHD to the PIM400 and select "Door Properties" for the door number of interest. Under the EDIT tab find FIRST/DELAY/RETRY.

If you suspect additional delay will improve radio performance the recommended settings are 300/300/5.
