Caution: Resetting/cold booting a biometric handreader resets the handreader to factory default settings and erases the user database.

To reset or cold boot a biometric F-Series handreader with a reset button/switch:

Locate the small white reset button/switch underneath the colorful rainbow ribbon at the back of the reader.
Press the button in and keep it pressed in as you unplug and plug back in the power to the reader. Wait until you see "RESET:" in the display, then let go of the small white reset button.
From the display, press '9'. The reader will display a "COLD BOOT RESET PRESSED" reset message.

To warm boot a biometric F-Series handreader with a reset button/switch and retain the user database:

Locate the small white reset button/switch underneath the colorful rainbow ribbon at the back of the reader.
Press the button in and keep it pressed in as you unplug and plug back in the power to the reader. Wait until you see "RESET:" in the display, then let go of the small white reset button.
From the display, press '1'. The reader will display a "WARM BOOT RESET PRESSED" reset message.
