How do I to use an overhead stop with a door closer?

Integrating an overhead stop with a door closer usually requires that both pieces of hardware be mounted near the same locations on the door and frame usually causing a conflict. In most cases, modification of the closer location, manufacture of a special closer arm or cover plate, or the use of a special brackets, drop plates, or soffit shoes will avoid a hardware conflict.  Sometimes mounting a closer and a door stop on the opposite sides of the door will avoid conflict as well. A specific closer and overhead stop may need to be specified to work together in very specific applications. Product Support technicians at LCN have a list of special templates (ST's) which can be used to assist in determining how LCN closers may be used with Glynn Johnson overhead stops.
