Chexit goes into alarm with fast flashing LED and not locking after rearm time.

Followings could cause the Chexit device to go into alarm after the rearm time:

Chexit devices shipped after 8-24-2015 with motor driven:

Module DPS LED is ON

  • DPS switch contact is open: Close the door, if open. Verify the DPS contacts are closed when the door is closed.
  • DPS wiring/connection is open. With door closed, verify the DPS wiring has continuity from DPS contacts to module.

Module REX (Request Exit) LED is ON.

  • REX Cable is disconnected (plug in the cable).
  • REX switch is defective (replace REX switch assembly).
  • Defective Shock Absorber in the device may not allow the push bar to extend all the way out causes the REX switch contact not to close.  Remove the Shock Absorber and test the device.
Module Block LED and motor status LED are OFF

  • Blocking Device Cable to the motor is disconnected (Plug in the cable).
  • Blocking Device Cable has broken wire (replace the cable).
  • Chexit motor assembly is defective. Call Customer Service 877-671-7011 to replace the device.
  • Rim and vertical rod device, the latch bolt can't extend. Make necessary mechanical adjustment to latch properly.
  • Push Pad is held in. Verify Push Pad is extending fully.

Chexit devices shipped prior to 8-24-2015 with solenoid driven:

Chexit device has a RX switch with a connector that needs to be connected to the Chexit module otherwise the alarm will sound after the rearm time.

  • RX switch must have a closed contact to operate the device properly. If the contact is open (switch is out of adjustment or defective switch) Chexit will go into alarm after the rearm time.
  • Defective shock absorber in the Chexit device may not allow the pushbar to extend all the way out  causes the RX switch contact not to close. Remove the shock absorber and test the device without it.
  • If DPS (door position switch) switch is used with the Chexit device, the normally closed contact of the DPS must be connected to the ten wire connector cable of the Chexit between orange and white or orange and red wires. If the contact of the DPS is open Chexit will go into alarm after the rearm time.
  • If DPS is not used with the Chexit device, make sure orange wire is connected to the white wire.
