Can the AD-Series and CO-Series magnetic card credential readers be set to read data from different magnetic card tracks?

Customers will need to use the Schlage Utility Software (SUS) on the HHD lock programming device to set the desired magnetic track to be read for access control, if not using default Track 2
See the steps below to change the Magnetic Track settings:

Setting Magnetic track settings:

With the Schlage Utility Software running on your HHD, while connected and communicating with the the lock:

- Select: Device Options
Select: Lock Properties
- Select: "Reader" Tab
- Select: "Mag Track in Use" - Mag Card Track = (1, 2 or 3) from the pull down menu
- Select: Save

When your access control data is NOT on Track 2 and the customer is using Track 1 or Track 3 for their access control data.  Customers should consider using the "Enable Low Power Wake-up" feature to increase battery life.

The Low Power Wake-up feature requires that the magnetic cards used by the facility to ALSO have data on Track 2. When Enabled, the Low Power Wake-up feature will program the magnetic credential reader to use its lowest standby power (sleep) mode, it will then use Track 2 to wake-up the reader and then it will use/read the data from the previously specified track (1 or 3)

Customers that DO NOT have any data on Track 2 cannot use the "Low Power Wake-up" feature.  In this case, the lock will not wake-up and card presentations will be completely ignored. No LED flashes and NO BEEPS.

Please see the attached Technical Bulletin HERE regarding Low Power Wake-up settings and requirements

The magnetic read head track setting comes from the factory as DEFAULT = TRACK 2 and the "Low Power Wake-up" feature ENABLED (checked)

NOTE: Locksets using data from track 1 or track 3 AND with the "Low Power Wake-up" feature DISABLED (not checked) will require battery replacements every 8 – 11 months based on normal usage.
