Can I change an AD lock from an 8 "AA" battery pack to a 4 "AA" battery pack?

The AD lock  battery pack type can be changed following this procedure:
1. Disconnect the existing battery pack
2. Depress and hold the SCHLAGE button for a few seconds to drain off any residual charge
3. Connect the new battery pack; the lock should execute a normal power-on procedure
4. Connect the HHD and check "Power Status" under "Lock Properties"; the correct battery pack type should be indicated
If the incorrect battery pack type is shown, disconnect the HHD and perform an S1 switch reset on the Main PCB
Re-check "Power Status" using the HHD
If changing from an 8-pack to a 4-pack, the user will need the Four-Battery Holder Kit, part number 4B. Finish must be specified.
If changing from a 4-pack to an 8-pack, the user will need the Eight-Battery Holder Kit, part number 8B. Finish must be specified.
