Are the 3CB1 hinges fire rated?

Per the 2016 edition of NFPA 80, the only restrictions for using spring hinges in a UL Listed fire door application are “at least two shall be provided” per 6.4.3.1.1.2, must be “Grade 1” per 6.4.3.1.2.2, and “should be adjusted to achieve positive latching when allowed to close freely from an open position of 30 degrees” per A.6.4.1.4.  NFPA has no restrictions on door size, other than the general statement to “consult the door and hardware manufacturer’s specific listings.” 

 

The following would be Ives' 3CB1 restrictions:

 

Other than the NFPA 80 code restrictions we have to follow, Ives restricts the 3SP1 to 3 hinges for 3' x 7' x 150lbs. max UL Listed for fire door.
